An Invisible Force

When she begs you to leave,
but needs you to stay,
and screams your name from the opposite end of the room,

all you can do is hope and wait.

There is a chaotic control.
There is dread and domination.
There is the desperate desire to trust,
and the defensive instinct to repel.

Escape is at the opposite end of the room.

Smoke seeps out from her mouth and nose.
It thickens the air as she speaks in inversed riddles.
Her fear will leave burn marks in your memories
while her possession borrows the same flames to raze the whole building to the ground.

And the whole time,
an invisible force keeps the door at the opposite end of the room.

Distant

....the distance... it was so... colossal!
Cold. Black. Empty. Fear.

A grain of sand... and a mountain range.
Sitting side by side.

A shot glass.  Catching every single drop of rain in a thunderstorm.

Take a measure of your own madness before and after having witnessed the well of infinity, -FROM WHICH!- the usual promise of the returning sound of a dropped coin or stone...
Is swallowed whole.

Stare helplessly into it and I promise that your eyes will remain suspended where they are for all eternity.
Your blinded body will be free to run and jump and climb and die with that lucid memory.
